In just a few days, lots and lots of Habicht's will head to what we fondly refer to as"The Farm". Grandma, uncles, aunts, cousins, sisters, parents, babies, will all flood in via car and plane.I am quite sad to be missing the farm this year. It happened to coincide the same week I am taking kids to camp.
We have been going to the farm for years, and it is one of my most favorite places in the world. We always go the week of the 4th of July. Nestled in the foothills of Asheville, North Carolina, it is a dream vacation place. Some of my very most favorite childhood and adult memories come from the farm.
What is there to do at the farm you may ask? Well the schedule usually consists of lots of sleeping, lots of eating, lots of laughing and lots of loving.
Many of my cousins have gotten engaged at the farm. My older sister got engaged at the farm in the summer of 2006. (another summer I had to miss)
If you are dating someone its a big deal to bring them to the farm, because the farm is holy ground. You better be pretty serious/sure they are the one if they come to the farm.
I have yet to meet a guy good enough for the farm...maybe next year ;)
Anyway- this blog post is dedicated to the Farm and all the people I love that will arrive there this week- i wish you long naps in the hammock, cool dips in the pool, lazy days picking blueberries and deep, meaningful conversations with each other. We are a blessed family!
