Diamond Lil

Have you ever had a moment in your life where you thought if someone would have told you several years ago you would be doing what you are doing at that exact moment you would have laughed? That moment came for me last wednesday night, when during dinner at Young Life camp, I sat perched on a giant swing in a long frilly dress singing home on the range.

I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

In the 70's at Young Life camp during the 1890's western night, they used to have a giant swing in the dining room and a girl named Diamond Lil would come lead the songs. During our assign team training someone brought up how cool that would be if Diamond Lil might make a come back. Me, thinking this would surely never happened, volunteered myself to be Diamond Lil.

Of course Frontier guest services found a way to build a giant swing and rig it up on the dining room stage. and of course I had to stay true to my word and swing on it every wed night.

Oh give me a home......where the buffalo roam...... You know I love this stuff.
